'The Continuous Art Class: the Novi Sad Neo-Avantgarde of the '60s and '70s' is an ongoing project initiated by kuda.org. As a culmination of their research, kuda.org put together an exhibition showing conceptual work of Vojvodina artists active in the '60s and 70's. For ALMOSTREAL stage 1, this exhibition was transferred to Zagreb in collaboration with WHW. As an exhibition, 'The Continuous Art Class' broached cultural fault lines between Croatia and Serbia — for not only did the content of the retrospective exhibition about Novi Sad neo-Avantgarde of the 70s re-emerge in Zagreb, but also the original protagonists of the movement (the older generation of the Vojvodina artists) travelled to Croatia for the occasion. The shift from Novi Sad to Zagreb therefore signalled a significant moment through which the parameters of the social engagement inherent to the “dissident” artistic movement from the shared Yugoslav past was tested inside a completely changed climate of the post-war nation states in the Balkans.
On this page you can find information about activities that have been organised as part of ALMOSTREAL. You can see what type of activity it is (an exhibition, discussion, etc.) and if an activity resulted in a certain product or linked media files, you can find information about that too. Finally, the tag field shows some keywords that can be associated to this activity.
