Stage 4 started to take shape in October 2006 when ALMOSTREAL invited artist Jeanne van Heeswijk to make a proposal that would examine the theme of hospitality in the context of the Blue House. For the fourth stage, the Blue House and ALMOSTREAL will co-instigate a stream of artistic exchanges and new cultural imaginings that question the binary between host and guest and public and private spaces within the borders of Europe.
Unfolding in 2007 and continuing in 2008, stage 4 involves a series of artistic actions, interruptions and interventions from granting cultural asylum, establishing a migrant radio station, editing a dossier on hospitality in the public sphere, exchanging perspectives from funding officer and artist to setting up a newtork of cultural places around the world that, like the Blue House, actively push for social interaction and as a host for deviant social thoughts and cultural emergences.
