‘It Will Be What We Make It’ will start on the 12th of November and end 3rd of December 2007. It is a 3 week practice-based research project co-developed by contemporary dance platform Alkantara and ALMOSTREAL.
Here's the plan: for 21 days, 19 invited international artists of various cultural and disciplinary backgrounds (dance, television, architecture, sound production, theory to theatre) will come together in a former warehouse space in Lisbon which has been endowed to Alkanatara by the Lisbon city council. Entitled 'it will be what we make it', this project will be a shared space and time for artists to expand their own cultural practices by swapping, exploring and learning one another’s methodologies, sensitivities and skills and spark the possibilities for new partnerships, spontaneous productions and to experiment with different formats of documentation.
Participants in 'it will be what we make it' includes Marc Neelen and Ana Dzokic of archtiectural collective STEALTH unlimited (also editors of ALMOSTweb) and Tarek Atoui, independent curator composer and musician who is organising several multimedia workshops as part of ALMOSTREAL stage 2.
‘it will be what we make it’ takes place as part of ALMOSTREAL stage 3, which deals with the theme reflection: between research and practice.
