The Beirut Art Center is a non-profit association, space and platform dedicated to contemporary art in Lebanon. The center, initiated by curator Sandra Dagher and artist Lamia Joreige, aims to produce, present and promote local and international contemporary art and cultural practice in a structure that is open and active throughout the year.
The center will be the site for the presentation of 5 young Lebanese artists who are in the process of producing new video installations as part of the interdisciplinary workshops organised by Tarek Atoui for the second phase of AR2 in early 2009.
