"Familiarising Zagreb audiences with artistic production in Novi Sad during the '60s and '70s is needed because these initiatives are part of the common history, but today they do not resonate in the 'official' history of art in Croatia...Instead of a demonstration of influence, the point is to show the desire to go on with certain forms of experimentation, to take the paths that others had opened, to take it as the path of the very possibility to see, or to feel, or to move — and then to go elsewhere, by following that same path which has become the ground or the clearing of the present." Part of stages AR1 and activities Zagreb Getogether , The Continuous Art Class: from Novi Sad to Zagreb
The first stage of ALMOSTREAL culminated in Zagreb in January 2006 when the exhibition "Continuous Art Class" (on the conceptual art practices of Novi Sad's neo-avant-garde of the '60s and '70s) was moved from Novi Sad, Serbia to Zagreb, Croatia. This relocation of the exhibition was made possible out of a collaboration between kuda.org (Novi Sad) and curatorial collective WHW (Zagreb). The opening of the exhibition in Zagreb on January 16 2006, was the first opportunity of a public reunion of artists to cross national borders and cultural faultlines between Serbia and Croatia.
