On Saturday 24 November, the first explorations of the project 'It Will Be What We Make It' were shared between the artists and the audience. Alkantara, a performing arts organisation in Lisbon has (for the first time in almost 15 years!) a permanent space from which to operate. The future is still open towards the possible uses and users this space can take.
'Good Night & Good Luck' is a public event made by both the audience and participating artists with a performance by Saša Asentić, a lecture by Ana Džokic & Marc Neelen and a play by Tarek Atoui & Nuno Rebelo. The evening also included a dinner between artists and audience where the audience is asked to bring ingredients for an improvised dinner cooked by the artists. The audience was responsible for selecting YouTube films for the evening's screenings for a YouTube festival.
The programme consisted of:
A CONFERENCE with the architects Ana Džokić (Serbia / Netherlands) and Marc Neelen (Netherlands). A lecture about spaces designed and constructed with the cooperation of the community.
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT performance by Saša Asentić (Bosnia-Herzegovina). Celebration of the 14 years of existence of alkantara, with 14 expressions, synonymous of hard work, in several languages.
CONCERT by Nuno Rebelo (Portugal) and Tarek Atoui (Lebanon). The two musicians in the group will improvise their own music, mixing electronic with strange instruments.
BRING YOUR INGREDIENTS We will prepare your dinner, you only have to bring an ingredient (vegetables, fruit, pasta, whatever you want). With all the ingredients received the artists will cook your dinner, which will be served at 23.00h.
YOUTUBE FESTIVAL! A program with the audience's favorite videos from YouTube. The audience could send the links to their nominated YouTube films to alkanatra prior to the event.
