Bojana, originally from Belgrade, is a performer and performance theorist based in Brussels, while Mark, throughout his years as director of alkantara, had devised several projects that explore and create new grounds for collaborations between individuals and organisations internationally. One of these projects being Encounters, a year-long project of 6 collaborations. For this project Bojana was asked to develop ´Before and After the Show: unfolding the working process' as a round-up of Encounters to ask the participating artists to reflect upon their collaboration so that practice itself has a theoretical potential. Since the relationships explored are not limited to the binary tensions between artistic practice and artistic theory but are rather formulated as a triangulation involving practice, theory and economy (public/private funding as a force mediating or preventing proper linkage between the duality of practice and theory).
