The dance and performance festival Alkantara (formerly Danças na cidade) is about to move into a space given by the city of Lisbon. With a space of its own, the festival organisation will face a change in its programmatic and organisational structure. In the context of 'It Will Be What We Make It', architects Ana Džokić and Marc Neelen of STEALTH.unlimited opened the question of how to approach the making of a cultural space.

Featuring among others examples like the Worm building in Rotterdam, a centre for experimental music and film Aula Abierta, and a community built space at the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam that consists of a 20 000 m2 workspace for artists and cultural producers.
