The decision between AlmostReal and curator Maria Lind has been reached to hold the final event of AlmostReal in the second half of 2009 in Stockholm to coincide with the Swedish presidency. This conclusionary event will bring together artists and cultural political policy figures in an attempt to unravel the cultural-political landscape, outlook and interests of funding (both private and public) Europe-wide. The aim is to reveal the imperatives of cultural funding so that these can be tangibly discussed, debated and, hopefully, negotiated between participating artists, policy figures and audiences.

Can European cultural policies be transformed from 'below'? Does AlmostReal signal an emergence of a constructive collaboration between artists and cultutral policy-makers and funders? The public discussion involving, among others, researcher and arts advisor Munira Mirza, artist duo Goldin + Senneby is set to take place in the Konsthall C.
