Storytelling is explored through video as a medium to make visible individual stories and subtle differences which challenge and run counter to the dominant narrative of Lebanese history.

ALMOSTREAL stage 3 explores how a culture of reflection could be accomodated between practice and research. Several different artists and cultural workers collaborate together to develop a culture of reflection that inspire new avenues of reseach. Together with contemporary dance platform ‘alkantara’, stage 3 takes up the challenge to make deliberate instances of refelction before, during and after the shared and yet often imperceptible processes of practice and research in artistic collaboration.

In today's society of increased privatisation and closed doors, can art create instances of hospitality which opens its doors onto the unknown? Can art pave a real hospitable space where the bounds between private and public are not reinforced but prised open and shared? A space where the notion of a singular power of a private voice and ownership becomes susceptible to the noise and interactions of an unpredictable public?

Throughout ALMOSTREAL, the relation between funder and the funded has been a driving yet curious issue: is this relation based on real intimacy or schmooze? The fifth and final stage of ALMOSTREAL will explore the meanings and upshots of intimacy in the collaborative relationship between funder and funded.
