Beirut-based curator and cultural organiser, Christine Tohmé is founding director of Ashkal Alwan Lebanese Association for the Plastic Arts. Through Ashkal Alwan, Christine has been committed to supporting artists who engage with the socio-politcal and cultural potentials of art. She has been an active figure in building local audiences and expanding public experience of cultural issues in Lebanon bringing international attention to cultural practices in Lebanon through curating the bi-annual forum "Home works". Her focus is on forging new possibilities and collaborations between artistic disciplines, generations, and cultural exchanges on both a micro-local scale and a wider global context.
Christine attended the first getogether. Ashkal Alwan's extensive network and contact and support of local artists in Lebanon was a primary incentive for ALMOSTREAL to develop a partnership with Ashkal Alwan for the second stage of ALMOSTREAL.
